Every Quilt is a Learning Quilt
Join us for a Trunk Show - Every Quilt is a Learning Quilt: Every quilt project, whether a triumph or a disaster, has something to teach you. Jenny shares several of her quilts, the ones that went right, the ones that went oh so wrong, and what they taught her.
Jenny Kae Parks contracted an incurable case of Quilt-pox in 2001 with her first project - quilted place mats. Several years and many projects later, she began working and teaching at local quilt shops. Since 2013, she has taught in over 150 videos demos for The Quilting Company, Quilting Daily, Fons & Porter, Quiltmaker, and guest spots on Love of Quilting on PBS. She has a pattern line and dozens of tutorials on her YouTube channel. Her quilts have been published in Love of Quilting, Quick and Easy Quilts, American Quilter’s Society and McCall’s. Jenny Kae’s latest project is an online color course – specifically for quilters! “My objectives, whether teaching, filming or designing, are to entertain, educate and encourage quilters of all skill levels.” For more about Jenny Kae, visit her website www.jennykaequilts.com.

The Journey Back Quilts guild meetings are a joy. It’s so much fun to see the beautiful accomplishments of women all over the country and beyond. There’s so much support and encouragement. Rachel is a breath of fresh air and so sweet in her instruction. She’s full of handy tips and ideas.

I found Let’s Get Social online quilt guild and Rachel through a Facebook invitation. I was seeking a way to meet other quilters, to be inspired, and to share what I was working on. The monthly Zoom meetings are a great way to allow quilters all over the country to connect with one another over our shared passions of quilting. Rachel is a wonderful hostess; encouraging everyone, providing tips and tricks, and answering questions based on all her experience and expertise. In between meetings, we can also share our photos or questions on the Your Quilting Journey Show and Tell Facebook page. The Let’s Get Social community is an active, supportive, and inspiring group of quilters and I am glad to be a member.

Being a single working grandma raising 3 kiddos, Rachel, Journey Back Quilts and her Virtual Quilt Guild are perfect for me. In fact, the first Thursday of the month is the best day of my month. The first Thursday, I can log on, enjoy myself and be encouraged by Rachel and the others logging on. I even found a quilting buddy down the road just a couple of miles. I know that when I am able to slow down and get back to sewing, Rachel and Journey Back Quilts will be there to cheer me on.
